Few areas in Latin America can rival Argentina’s impact on electronic music, with some of the world’s most influential DJs and producers calling it home. It was on the streets of Buenos Aires – where Latin American vibes combine seamlessly with the powerful beats of Europe – that SMJKL was forged. Having spent more than a decade of devoted search into sound and music, SMJKL is now creating his own sound at the hottest clubs and beachfront of Baja Sur, sharing the stage with such legends as Chris Garcia, Patricio Hegewisch, Lavelle Dupree, Carlos Rosas, Inigo Vontier and more. Especially new and exciting is the beach club called BIG FUN, in the booming hotspot of Baja called Cerritos Beach. A location that many think can become the next TULUM or IBIZA of this hemisphere. Heavily influenced by his roots in Argentina's progressive house scene, his music style varies from chill eclectic beach vibes to organic and melodic beats that fire up the dance floor. The preferred genres for this podcast are #deephouse, #soulfulhouse, and funky, disco #HouseMusic. There are 2 reasons for this: 1. We feel these genres are best for daytime vibes staring at the ocean in Baja, sitting poolside, or anywhere the listener wants to enjoy this particular sound, and 2. Mike (a.k.a. HIGHPOCKETS) intends to focus on the distinct vibes that first got him interested in house music many years ago like NAKED MUSIC, CAFE DEL MAR, OM RECORDS, and since becoming sober, he wants to play music for people that sounds amazing, even if they’re choosing not to drink or use substances.
